Calculator bug in Mortgage top sites too …

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Hello Friends,

Yesterday, I got an interesting feedback from a Guest Member in MortgageFit Community.

He found a bug in our calculator. Yes, the bug is an interesting one. In our Mortgage Payment Calculator, for some payments, the total of Principal and Mortgage Interest was coming out to be higher than actual monthly payment; but the difference is minimal, that of $0.01 only.

I have assigned the task to my development team so that they fix the bug asap; Hopefully, they will come up with a positive result.

But may be you are thinking - Why I am sharing this with you?

Actually, after I came to know, I just started browsing some of the biggest sites in the mortgage industry like BankRate.com, Mortgage-Interest.com and more…

Guess what? I was completely surprised to see that they also having the same type of bug!!

Let’s try out with Bank Rate’s Mortgage Payment Calculator:

What do you say? Isn’t that surprising?

How to make your site or blog talkable?

Monday, August 13th, 2007

First I would like to speak about the concept of being talkable. We can define it as “everyone is talking about you, or your product or site to others’

Is it possible?

Yeah, definitely we can make our website or blogs talkable by implementing Forum.

Oh No!
“Forum, it’s too tough to manage. The system is too complex” – that’s what I often hear people saying.

But what if we keep provisions where

  • You do not have to manage.
  • The system is too simple.

Imagine just a 3 line code helping you to implement forum in your site!! And our experts will then manage your Forum. :D

Amazing!!! Isn’t it? But quite possible. Now we have a tool named “Mini Forum” which can make it possible. So, you can have your own forums without loosing a single visitor.

What do you say? Isn’t it something that can make your site talkable?

Needs Vs Wants

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Hi, I got a comment By PSD in my last post,

could you please tell me. Know how to differentiate between your needs and wants.(Needs and wants both are the similar phrase) What do it mean? Please give me an example why this thing required for planning?

So, I am writing this post mainly to try and answer his question and also to make you aware by stating the basic difference between them.

We can differentiate needs and wants in many aspects:

Economically, we can define Needs as “something which you actually require and without which you cannot survive.” Whereas, Wants are such that you like to have them but those aren’t essential for your survival.

Giving examples, I can say, medical aids and child education fees are the needs. Whereas, spending for traveling and entertainment include the wants.

Even, we should apply this strategy in our business life while marketing for a product.

For successful promotion of your product, try to convert the consumer wants into their needs.

I think now I am able to make it clear why needs are wants are different.

7 tips for making yourself a good planner

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

Hi Guys,

I’ve already shared my views on how important it is to Plan while buying a home. And, a Mortgage Planner Spreadsheet is one such tool that helps one in such planning.

Today, I just want to share with you the 7 simple tips that can help you in successful planning.

  1. Always be specific with your goals.
  2. Know how to differentiate between your needs and wants. Focus more on your wants.
  3. Try to make your plan simple and easy to be implemented.
  4. Don’t hesitate to accept your weakness. Try to plan by avoiding your weaknesses.
  5. Be practical in life. Do not plan emotionally.
  6. Winning and losing are two sides of the same coin. Always be ready to accept either of the two.
  7. Approach the right person to make your plan a success.

That is all I can think about as of now. Is there anything more that we require as a part of successful planning? :)

Mortgage Planning - Do it yourself

Monday, August 6th, 2007

Hi guys,

It’s true that we all wish to have a home of our own. But how many of us actually Plan for a home?

Better Planning is the key of success in our life. Now, isn’t it something that we’ve been hearing since our childhood? The fact remains its smart planning that works out not just any planning. Good planners are indeed great players in their own life.

Buying a home is the one of the most vital decision in our life. I personally advice all home seekers to plan before they approach lenders.

Proper Planning helps you to fulfill your dreams, have a happy family with a sweet dream home. And, when it comes to planning, we don’t feel like bothering ourselves. Rather, we contact a Mortgage Advisor or Consultant but that means some dollars are credited from our pockets. So what about planning things yourself; Do it yourself is the best way to experience and learn things about your life. Yes, it isn’t easy but then in the end it gives great satisfaction to plan your own things.

So, if you’re ready to Plan your Mortgage, just download a free Mortgage Planner Spreadsheet at your desktop and give it a start.
